The little black ant is often categorically grouped into a generic type of black colored ants, which include several species ofcarpenter ants. Monomorium minimum measures 1/16 inch / 1.6mm long, with Queens measuring approximately twice as large. Most species of little black ants are jet black in coloration, but some ants may be brown. Antenna’s are 12 segmented, ending in a three segment club.
